Bloomquist Philly (BB FD OR)
Size: BB Small
Form: FD Formal Decorative
Color: OR Orange
Growers Notes
Color: Pinkish Orange blends so well with other colors
Growth habit: 6’ tall plant throws unbelievably long straight stems that would tower over most plants. It screams to be used for cut flowers, but if you leave the flowers on the plant, the stems only slightly bend, so I’d say it plays nicely with others. We did not stake it and all of ours stood sturdy the entire season.
Blooming habit: Very heavy and early bloomer with 4 1/2” flowers. Centers don’t close hard, but that doesn’t affect the vase life. It was a go-to for bouquet making.
Features: While I love using this one in bouquets, I loved it just as equally left on the plant. It ended up at the end of two beds, so walking through them was like walking under an arbor of my favorite shade of dahlia. Perfect for a spot along a fence, or at the back of a border.
