Bloomquist York (BB ID R) **READ NOTE**
In our climate, we rarely see our dahlias bloom with open centers during the main growing season. 2024 was very out of the ordinary in many ways, one being that across the board, many of our dahlias bloomed with open centers until mid Oct, when weeks of gloomy days finally turned sunny and warmed up. This odd blooming behavior included dahlias that we’ve grown for many years, and they recovered, closing their centers by the last couple of bloom flushes.
2024 was our third year growing Bloomquist York and the centers never closed, while previously we experienced it to be a beautiful bloomer. I have seen dahlias break down over the years, but taking our whole season into account, I don’t feel this is the case with this stock. With your purchase, you are taking a chance that it may or may not bloom with an open center.
