Cupcake (BB FD LB)
Size: BB Small
Form: FD Formal Decorative
Color: LB Light Blend
Growers Notes
Color: Soft peachy pink and very blendable. In different climates, it may turn more pink.
Growth habit: It’s grown anywhere from barely 3’ to almost 5’ for us in different locations over the years. No matter the height, the plant stays very compact and tidy. Cut very deep into the plant and you will be rewarded with consistent flushes of long stems. Don’t cheat on this step, or you will hate it!
Blooming habit: Moderate bloomer, 4” flowers, stems stay straight, making for easy cuts. Centers stay pretty strong through the end of the season.
Features: To be honest, even into year 2 with this, I wasn’t very impressed by it. I thought the color was lacking (and brown, odd color flowers are my favorite!), but the last two seasons with it have earned it a top spot in my heart. I’ve provided it to local florists, but mostly enjoy it in our rows, where it blooms it’s heart out. Would make a good transition color plant in the garden.
